They are backed up by fantastic teams of young people working for a nuclear weapons-free world.

Sarah (she/her, Kenya)

Sarah is a visionary Program Officer working with the African Council of Religious Leaders -Religions for Peace (ACRL-RfP) to make a difference nationally, regionally and globally. Her work revolves around engaging faith communities in advocacy for nuclear disarmament at the national and regional level.

Alice is a last year undergraduate student at SOAS University of London in International Relations and Languages and Cultures. She volunteers as a Program Associate for the Middle East Treaty Organization and works as an intern for the Jordanian Embassy in London.

Sangam is an MBBS student at the Institute of Medicine currently working with the IPPNW student chapter in Nepal. He is a research enthusiast in the field and raises concerns over nuclear weapons.

Molly [she/her, USA]

Molly is the Nuclear Program Associate with the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW). She was raised in the Baltimore, Maryland area where she first gained a passion for justice-centered work. Molly graduated from Salisbury University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Gender & Sexuality Studies.

Sahr Sheku Davowah holds a BSC. Hons. in Peace and Conflict Studies from Fourah Bay College-University of Sierra Leone and currently works as a volunteer for the Campaign for Human Rights and Development International(CHRDI).

Ruth (she/her, Cameroon)

Ruth holds an MA in International Relations and Humanitarian Action from IRIC, Yaounde. As a trained journalist and Humanitarian aid worker, she spends time working together with affected communities to put together collaborative tools to amplify their stories and activism for justice.

Jake [he/him, UK]

Jake holds an MA in Violence, Terrorism and Security from Queen’s University Belfast and have long been passionate about nuclear disarmament and peace issues. He currently works in Campaigns and Media for a U.K.-based global health NGO; here his work is focused on coordinating U.K. voices to advocate for a stronger global response to HIV and AIDS.

Bwale (he/him, Zambia)

Bwale Charles is Senior medical student at the University of Zambia as well as a degree holder of Barchelor of Science in Human biology He is a youth advocate working towards the ban of nuclear weapon and the prevention of nuclear war. He Is also a member of the Zambia Health for Social Responsibility and an advocate of peace and Global health.

Remy (he/him, Congo – Kinshasa)

Remy is a young community organizer, Writer and researcher from the Congo Basin forest (world's second lungs). With GREEN CONGO INITIATIVE, his local organization, Remy has planted news trees in destroyed parts of the forest and advocating to saving the Congo basin forest and urgent need to promote the indigenous people rights.

Jonah (he/him, Uganda)

Jonah Kirabo is a graduate of Egypt's prestigious National Training Academy, where he received training in community leadership, SDGs, and advocacy. In Uganda, he founded the Green Futures Initiative, a youth-led organisation that reconnects young people to nature through Climate Education, Tree Planting, and Waste Management campaigns.

Ellie [she/her, UK]

Ellie is a co-convenor of the Youth and Student Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, as well as a member of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament's National Council. She is a fundraiser for a humanitarian medical aid NGO where she is also the co-chair of their equality, diversity and inclusion working group.

Emma is a full-time student currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in International Law at the Swedish Defence University in Stockholm. Since 2020 they have held the role of head of events for the United Nations Association Stockholm Youth section.

Reyaaz is a Youth Lead of the Community of Democracies. He holds a BA PPE, an Honours degree in African studies and 3 Executive Diplomas (International Security, International Organisations and Foreign Service.) He is pursing his Master's in International Politics.

Miyuki (she/her, Japan)

Miyuki is Program Coordinator of Soka Gakkai International (SGI) and Vice Chair of Youth Council for Soka Gakkai Women's Peace Committee. Being based in Japan, she has been working to raise awareness of peace and disarmament issues locally and internationally.

Christina (she/her, UK)

Christina holds an LLM in Human Rights Law from the University of Edinburgh, gaining her passion for disarmament through her research on IHL and humanitarianism. Alongside disarmament, Christina works at the OSCE-ODIHR, and is a researcher for slavefreetrade International.

Magritte Gordaneer is a student at McGill University and has been in the disarmament movement for the past six years. She is the Program Coordinator of IPPNW Canada and co-founder of McGill Students for Peace and Disarmament.
