Vote in the election for the next Youth for TPNW steering committee!

Voting for the next Youth for TPNW steering committee is now open!

Everyone under the age of 30 or otherwise affiliated with our movement is invited to vote in this election. 

All of the candidates have nominated themselves and written a short statement. The current Steering Committee have not shortlisted or edited these statements or applications: everything is decided by your votes.

Some roles will be shared by two people, others will only fulfilled by one person only. For roles which we be fulfilled by two people, each voter is allowed two votes; for those where only one person will get the role, you’ll be limited to one vote only. This is all made clear on the voting for, but please be in touch if you’re confused.

Roles

What we're looking for

  • Age: applicants need to be between 18-30. We are a youth movement: for youth and led by youth. We currently don’t have the online safeguarding policies in place to extend our core team to under-18s, but this is something we will be working on in the next committee cycle so we can aim to widen participation to younger people soon. You should be 30 or under for the entirety of your intended term of office (i.e. two years after taking on the role).
  • Youth for TPNW is a new organisation, and these roles are not set in stone. You can take the role wherever you like, and bring creativity to processes and ways of working. The new Steering Group should be open to experimenting with ways of working and changing up how the movement is managed!
  • Enthusiasm: you need to be enthusiastically committed to our values and our aim. You can read more about these on our website. You’ll need to be passionate about the full implementation of the TPNW.
  • Commitment: Youth for TPNW can only succeed with the commitment of its team members to advancing the cause of youth voices and continued commitment to young voices in the disarmament space. If elected, you will be expected to honour time commitments on behalf of the members who elected you. Support is available to help you manage and navigate these new responsibilities.
  • Ideas and inspiration: Youth for TPNW belongs to everyone, so bring loads of ideas about where the movement can go next and what you want to see from it.
